Sewing

We leave for Pennsic (our annual medieval camping trip) this Saturday and we are in CRAZY sewing b/c Odin and Bjorn can't wear last year's clothes;-)

Play Time!

It was amazing...today after Odin and Bjorn ate dinner they went off to their own corners to play ALONE!  Momma ate dinner and read an article in the newspaper!  Grandma called Momma over as it was definitely picture-worthy...

Odin looked through his Disney book for almost 15 minutes!  It was a really nice break for Momma.

But then with the camera in hand she caught some irresistible pictures of Bjorn.

Snack Time!

Today Grandma decided Bjorn needed to have afternoon snack (in addition to breakfast and dinner).  So Momma pureed butternut squash, chicken broth, tomatoes, a bit of coconut oil and a dash of curry power for Bjorn.  He LOVED it!

 And tried to jump out of his tripp trapp to get more!

 Oh, yes, I'm so incredibly cute!

Trip to NJ and NY

Life has been so busy lately!  Possibly a bit busier than normal...as such we are really behind on updates!  So, here we go trying to catch up...

Last month we took a trip to NJ and NY to visit with family.  The drive was long, but Björn helped drive!

Odin and Björn got to spend time lots of time with family and they loved it.  In NJ Odin and Björn spent time with their cousins Sydney and Brooke.

Sydney especially loved spending time with Bjorn.

And, as usual Odin and Brooke oscillated from loving each other to not really liking each other;-).  We had a big cook out at Uncle Brandon and Aunt Mary's house.  We got to see so many family members.  And they got to see Björn for the first time!

While in NJ we also went to the beach.  Odin, Sydney, Brooke, and Trevor (Al's son) found some other cool kids to play with and they all worked hard together building a "river."

Al brought a kite and Odin learned how to fly it!

While in NY we spent the day and Uncle Jonah's and Aunt Lynn's house.  They have a very nice pool.  Aaron taught Odin some tricks including jumping off the diving board!

 Odin and Björn are really starting to play together more. 

 We had a quick 1 day visit from Grandpa Dave.  Odin got to blast him by surprise on the back deck with his new water gun...if only we had a picture of that!!

Just Lovin' Life

Life's been pretty darn good around here these days...Recently Momma and Dad went to see "A Prairie Home Companion."  We think Bjorn enjoyed the show too!

Or perhaps he enjoyed the alone time with Momma and Dad!  Odin got to stay home with Grandma Fern and watch as many videos as he wanted.  Odin actually asked us to leave so the video-watching could begin.  We've told Odin he is only allowed to watch videos when he stays alone with Grandma.  The next day he asked if he could do it again!  But Grandma said she could only watch unlimited videos once a month.

Bjorn and Odin continue to foster a healthy, loving brotherly relationship!  Hey, don't pull my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While Dad was busy working one evening Momma, Granmda and Odin went out to Durham to listed to some live music.  Odin said he really enjoyed it...or was it the french fries with ketchup that he enjoyed!?!?!?  A special treat!

A Swedish friend, Eric, visited with us this past weekend.  He and Odin got along fabulously.  Odin asked if he could stay another night...maybe, just maybe!

Momma has recently really gotten into fermenting veggies and drinks.  Below is a picture of her most recent creations.  From right to left:  sauerkraut, spiced beets, turnips and beets, water kefir, water kefir + lemonade in the second stage ferment (super yum!  this will taste like lemonade sofa when it is done).

Bjorn is just so cute!

I took these pictures for my acupuncturist because he wanted pictures of a super happy, super healthy baby and he specifically requested pictures of Bjorn. I was under the acupuncturist's care when I got pregnant with Bjorn and continued treatments thru the pregnancy. I ate a strict gluten-free, low carb, high fat diet with lots of kelp, cod liver oil, butter, raw milk, raw milk cheese, bone broth and veggies while pregnant (and actually before getting pregnant). As a result (I think) we've got Bjorn, our mellow, happy, cute as a button baby! And now Born is starting to enjoy many of these healthy treats. Yesterday I gave him cod liver oil! And recently I started giving him bone broth veggie soups.
