Lunch with Dad

This week Dad took special time from work to have lunch with both boys. 

And the sweet boys made mom veggie juice when she came down sick with the flu.

Halloween

Every year Athens enjoys a super fun Halloween and this year did not disappoint! 

Of course, the entire family dressed up!

Just a weekend...

This past weekend dad took Odin camping with the Boy Scouts.  Dad bragged about how helpful Odin was cooking and preparing the campsite and then cleaning up when it was time to go home.

At home, Mom and Bjorn had a relaxing weekend that involved cooking, reading lots of stories and hanging out together.

Bjorn's Birthday

Bjorn turned a really big 6 last week.  On his actual day we opened presents before school and got ice cream after dinner.  Of course, he got legos!

This past Sunday we had his actual party at ChuckECheese.  Clearly he had a great time.

Odin's Birthday

Odin turned 9 on August 20th (about a month ago...life has been too busy for blogging!).  Lots of fun things happened.  On the morning of his birthday he got his birthday donut from Ike and Jane before school.

We also spent the weekend at Lake Oconee with friends and Odin got up on his kneeboard for the first time.  And he did fabulous!

We also had a birthday party at the skating rink for all his school friends.

 It was a large crowd!  Odin loves to skate and has gotten very good at it.

A really fun Friday

Last Friday we made a visit to a lovely area outside of Athens, GA for a seriously fun adventure.

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere is a property with a pond, 510 ft zip line going across the pond, a climbing wall and a repelling wall!  I took the boys there with our new neighbor friend, Samaya.

 And zooming across the pond on the zipline.  Mom got to go twice and each kiddo got to go 5 times!  It was thrilling!

 After the zipline we gave the climbing wall a try.  Odin, like spider-man, quickly climbed to the top.

 Bjorn, too, got amazingly high!

 And even Mom did pretty well;-)

First Day of School

School started back today!  Lots of smiles for everyone :-)

Odin is starting 4th grade.  He has two teachers.  Ms. Carrithers and Mr. Snow.

 Bjorn is starting Kindergarten and he has three teachers!  But we only saw two on the first day.  Ms. Evans and Ms. Taylor.

Dad's getting older...44!

Hannah's Bat Mitzvah

Catching up from a month of vacation!  We started our vacation in New York visiting family.  Included in that visit was Hannah's Bat Mitzvah.  Kids had a blast!

They even dressed nicely for the event.

Last Day of School

Today is the last day of preschool for Bjorn and the last day of 3rd grade for Odin.  WOW...

April Pictures

We are so busy and the kids are keeping us on our toes!  Here are some fun pictures from April...

Today we are getting hair cuts, so Dad worked extra hard to get nice pictures of the boys and their lovely hair before their summer cuts ;-)

Grandma came to visit giving Mom and Dad a welcome break and making the grandkids very happy.

 This past weekend we had a ton of rain...the kids really enjoyed splashing around and building dams.

They worked together nicely...something that occasionally happens ;-)
