Bjorn and Odin at Boy Scouts

Typically at Boy Scouts Odin spends his time with Dad and friends...but this past Sunday he had to go with Mom and Bjorn.  Bjorn, very excited to get a chance to go to Boy Scouts insisted on being next to Odin the entire time.  The Scouts were learning about team work and communication.  They built an obstacle course and took turns helping each other through.  First, with Odin blind folded, Bjorn directed Odin through the course.

Next, with Bjorn blind folded, Odin helped Bjorn!  So sweet to see the boys helping each other and enjoying it!

Thanksgiving

We started Thanksgiving Break by heading up to the lake house and to Raleigh to visit with Grandma, friends and enjoy some relaxation at the lake house.

The boys watched Star Wars with dad and that was a huge hit!

We played a lot of games (mostly Uno) but also Monopoly Junior.  Odin went on some runs with mom (and that made mom super happy).

 And we got to visit with Raleigh friends.

We had Thanksgiving dinner in Athens with our friends Christian and Ale (and their kids).  We ate too much and the kids played hard!  FUN TIMES!

Weekend with Cora and Grady

This past weekend Momma took the boys to visit Grady and Cora (and for her to visit with Amanda).  Of course it was a lovely visit.  Odin and Grady picked up exactly where they left off about a year ago (last visit) and Cora and Bjorn got along better than they ever have (with some hurt feelings, but much improved;-).

Mom wasn't so great at capturing the moments so we'll have to rely on good memories;-)

Our boys wake up ridiculously early, so we kept quiet playing Sorry until it seemed reasonable to leave our room and wake the rest of the house up!

 While we were gone Al flew down from NJ for a guy working weekend.  Bronson and Al accomplished an amazing long "wish" list mom put together...including this lovely chandelier! (a lot, lot more things!).

This morning Dad took Bjorn and Milan to the coffee shop for fruit before heading to daycare.  And of course, they loved it!  (Dad OFTEN does this).

Pumpkin Carving Party

We had our first really big party at the Holman House yesterday.  It was a pumpkin carving party and it was a huge success!  Lots of friends came and many, many pumpkins were carved.  As with most parties, more fun was had than can possibly be captured in photos...but we got a few good ones;-)

Chase Street Skate Night

Last night was the Chase Street Elementary School Skate Night and momma braved it with Odin, Ben, Lila and Bjorn.  The kids were great and had a blast.

Bjorn tried skating, but quickly discovered the motorcycle video games (not that momma actually let him put money in and play...but just sitting on the motorcycle was enough fun for him!).

 Odin was pretty serious most the night trying to master skating (but doing a lot of falling).  I did, catch him briefly skating with Ben.  Right after this picture they both tumbled!

 At the end of the night the big kids needed a rest and decided air hockey was a good option.

Grandma Cathy Visits Athens

This past weekend Grandma Cathy came to visit.  She spent lots of time with the boys.  But I think she spent the most time with Björn playing Uno!  He loved it and played until the very last minute when we had to drop Grandma Cathy off for her flight home.

Athens Half Marathon

Momma did it again...ran the 1/2 marathon and again with lots of support from the family!  The boys were great at cheering all the runners including mom!

Good friends, big fun

Whew...lots of playdates and fun this weekend.  Started on Friday with Alex, Lila, Milan hanging out with Odin and Bjorn after school.  Milan and Bjorn helped Momma make cinnamon rolls

and everyone helped to eat them!

On Saturday we went to a birthday party at the firestation.  Kids loved playing on the firetruck!

 We also went to the kids museum and Bjorn got to ride a motorcycle,

On Sunday we went to the corn maze with Ben and Max.  (Ben is covered in corn and Bjorn is keeping him under!).

Today is a day off school for Odin, so we are starting the morning with Lila and a little (ahem, I mean a lot) of minecraft while Momma tries to work (or rather updates the blog;-)

Bjorn is 4 + 1 day;-)

He wanted a spider man mask!  

But, when he opened gifts from dad...he decided he wanted to be Thore instead!  (see the hammer...).

Odin and Demetrius Birthday Celebration

For labor day weekend we traveled up to Raleigh to see friends and Grandma.  While in Raleigh Hope threw a birthday celebration for Odin and Demetrius.  Definitely a special time for all.

Odin turns 7!

This was Odin's birthday weekend.  We are still crazy unpacking from the move so a big party wasn't in the cards...but we did have a super fun weekend.

Friday we played with our friends Lila (in Odin's 2nd grade class), Milan (in Bjorn's UCC class) and Lara (super-fun mom).  Lara brought over coconuts and we busted into them.  The kids really enjoyed getting crazy with the hammer!  And tasting the coconut milk too.

Moms enjoyed it too!

On Saturday we also went to Hurricane Shoals.  A very cool place with water, rocks, playground and lots of mud to play in.  My favorite quote of the day:

Lila to Odin:  Want to make mud balls and throw them at each other?

Sunday we had a small b-day party with  Kristen, Craig, Ben and Max.  Odin spent the entire day waiting and waiting to see Ben...;-)

On Saturday we also got to do some pottery at another friend's b-day party (Addie to the left of Odin, from Odin's second grade class.  Lila is on Odin's right).

And Sunday morning Mom went running with her gal running group...8 miles!
