This was Odin's birthday weekend. We are still crazy unpacking from the move so a big party wasn't in the cards...but we did have a super fun weekend.
Friday we played with our friends Lila (in Odin's 2nd grade class), Milan (in Bjorn's UCC class) and Lara (super-fun mom). Lara brought over coconuts and we busted into them. The kids really enjoyed getting crazy with the hammer! And tasting the coconut milk too.
Moms enjoyed it too!
On Saturday we also went to Hurricane Shoals. A very cool place with water, rocks, playground and lots of mud to play in. My favorite quote of the day:
Lila to Odin: Want to make mud balls and throw them at each other?
Sunday we had a small b-day party with Kristen, Craig, Ben and Max. Odin spent the entire day waiting and waiting to see Ben...;-)
On Saturday we also got to do some pottery at another friend's b-day party (Addie to the left of Odin, from Odin's second grade class. Lila is on Odin's right).
And Sunday morning Mom went running with her gal running group...8 miles!

Running!
Amidst all the craziness with the move, our unfinished (but totally awesome house), and lack of ANY organization in the house...Mom has found time to RUN!
For a year she's dreamed of running Odin to school each morning...and finally...it is happening. For the past two days Mom has run while Odin has scootered or rode his bike.
Both times Odin's friend Lila (she's also in his class) has joined us.
Here's a picture of us at our first big crossing intersection on our first day.

And here we are on our second day. Lila's mom, Lara, joined us on her bike and that was fun for Mom to have company running on the way home. It is 1.3 miles one-way and seems to be a good way to get some early morning energy out before a long day at work/school!
Mom has also joined a running group and we are training for the Athen's half marathon together. So much fun to have gals to run with...

First night at the Holman House!
Last night was our first night sleeping at the Holman House (aka our new home!!!!!). It was great. The kids slept in their own bedrooms, everyone woke up happy and we are mostly unpacked and about half-way organized;-) Plenty of WORK still needs to be done on the house, but we've got a lifetime to get it all done...HA!

House Coming Along
We've had some set backs lately with the house, but overall it is moving forward and we hope to move in sometime early August.
Bronson is doing a ton of work these days! Not pictured below, but last night he installed the facet for the kitchen sink. Once the floors get their final coat of polyurethane he will install the appliances. We've had to re-do some drywall and re-do some painting and that has been frustrating, but overall we are loving the results. Mom's favorite room is the kitchen!
The 3rd floor we had to completely re-do the drywall and re-paint, but it looks fabulous now ;-)
Master bathroom tile, vanity and toilet that Bronson installed.
Boy's bathroom vanity. We went with Ikea vanities and facets for 3 of the bathrooms and really, really like the results.
More of Bronson's handywork (tile and vanity)

Ikea is great for small-space solutions! The office bathroom is very, very tiny, so a tiny, tiny vanity was the perfect fit! Bronson did a great job with this tile too!!
